The very first 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid

Toyota expands the Corolla Cross family by adding a healthy dose of performance and efficiency.

Based on the ever-popular Corolla sedan, the all-new 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid debuts in North America today to offer even more options for entry-level SUV buyers.

Engine and transmission

Available exclusively with all-wheel drive, the Corolla Cross Hybrid maximizes the inherent potential of the high-strength TNGA-C platform, enabling this all-new model to deliver high-quality performance, a comfortable ride and exceptional interior space. Plus, its amazing cargo volume gives it the versatility to adapt to life’s adventures.

Featuring a fifth-generation Toyota hybrid system paired with an electronic all-wheel-drive system – a first in the Corolla family – the Corolla Cross Hybrid offers increased power and fuel efficiency. With its 194 horsepower that allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds, the Corolla Cross Hybrid is pleasant to drive while offering a combined fuel consumption rating estimated by the manufacturer at 6.4 L/100 km for all versions.

Security devices

In addition to the crash protection provided by the TNGA-C platform, all 2023 Corolla Cross trims come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, Toyota’s suite of active safety systems, which includes enhancements made possible through to sensors with better detection capability. The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection is also capable of detecting motorcyclists under certain conditions. When turning or approaching an intersection, the system is designed to detect oncoming traffic, from the front or from the sides. It can also issue visual and audible alerts, and activate automatic braking in certain conditions. Improved lane recognition improves the performance of the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Lane Keep Assist systems.

The all-new 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid as well as the gasoline model launched in 2021 will be assembled at the new Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant located in Huntsville, Alabama. This brand new facility will have the capacity to produce up to 150,000 Corolla Crosses per year.
